Guilty Conscience

Pre-framed Antique Copperplate Etchings Overprinted w/ UV Cured Inkjet Typograpghy

the 1739 Edition: historic Vs. contemporary art

Traditional or Modern?
Politically Correct or Incorrect?
Respectful or Irreverant?

Original Intaglio Copperplate Etchings produced in 1739 by Rigaud et Baron (French Printers to the Aristocracy) were used in the production of this rare limited edition.

Images portray scenes of 18th Century Aristocratic Country life 50 years before the French Revolution.

In contrast to the 283 year old prints, modern semi-transparent typography overlays each scene printed with ultraviolet-cured inkjet print technology.

Does the copy reveal the hidden bias’ of the uber-wealthy and the upper-middle class? Do we nod and secretly subscribe to the politically incorrect gloating narrative that is held in 21st-century expression?
